(943) An elven woodsman collects branches here.

An elven woodsman shows you a selection of woods and indicates to you their price.
A wooden branch 1 copper
A piece of ash 2 copper
A maple branch 3 copper
A pine branch 4 copper
A piece of hickory 5 copper
A length of ebony 2 gold

An elven woodsman gives you a piece of wood.
An elven woodsman hands you the wood you have asked for.
You give an elven woodsman some money.
OK.

After fourteen pieces he's just stopped giving me wood - with no echo as to why.

I've purchased 70+ pieces of ash with no problem now.

Which variety of wood were you trying to purchase?

I have a question about wood, when you use it to craft items, does it utilize the name of the item ala lapidary, or does it use the name of the material of the actual piece of wood? If it uses the name I might modify this mob to use something like this myself...

Ach, sorry. I didn't realize it said 'the wood you have asked for' and not the type. 1 copper 'a piece of wood'.

The problem was a simple one, but in a couple of parts.
  • He was setting the wrong bits for ash wood (7 3 1 instead of 7 4 1).
  • He did not have an else feature in his program for regular wood (the one copper kind), so he just stopped at 14.
  • He cannot see in the dark and so could not see you to execute the correct response even in those programs that did have the correct else clause.
I fixed all of this on the test port, pending an update of the game port.
