The wands of Fireball purchased from shops doesn't do AOE. It only hits single targets.

Confirmed. Wands also can not be used at a distance. Looks like a hard code enhancement request is needed here.

By the by, when the wand is spent it becomes a "stick of fireball". I assume this is just trash that nothing useful can be done with, including recharging it? Oddly, IDENTIFY makes it look more valuable than the wand itself?!?

I think when you sell an item, it takes into account the overall durability? As to the stick thing, I'm not sure if those can be recharged or not. Could take to the rechargy place and type 'repair' though I think, and it should tell you. Maybe 'stick' items have a base value, and it's using the value of other wands (Such as RMI wands? Which have a -very- high value, I've noticed). I dunno. Strange, though, yes.

Yes, they change to item type trash after being used up. No, those sticks cannot be repaired. Neither, really can wands be repaired in the sense that you're talking about. It looks that they can be repaired if their condition is damaged (perfect to superb), but not if they have fewer than their possible total of charges.
a wand of fireball (perfect)
Stanley tells you, 'a wand of fireball looks fine to me!'
a wand of fireball (very good)
Stanley tells you, 'It will cost 2 platinum, 1 gold, 2 silver, 9 copper to repair that.'
Stanley tells you, 'Which I see you can't afford.'
(In both instances the wand had five of six original charges.)

I'm not sure if Stanley recharges wands? But I do know there's an NPC that does. However, it costs a lot more than 10p, usually. Though, that's with a different type of wand. I might have to try that with those types. Would be nice. <.<

Stanely is coded as a wand repairer (his entry in the #REPAIRS section indicates that he repairs wands). My point was just that repairing and recharging are different. Should they be the same though?

Command is the same, if you go to the other person. Repair I mean. At least I think it is. I know I have recharged wands before, to test it.

PM with the name of the NPC if you can think of it. I will look into it. I suspect that it is a function of soft code.

Yes, a wand repair shop can do both, but does not have to. I can confirm that it works with that NPC and I see why now.

Is it safe to assume one can't actually sell something of type trash to an NPC? If so, stick value isn't an issue.

This becomes an enhancement request for ZAP, allowing targets and ranged use.
