Can't memorize a spell despite knowing it

I want to memorize trollish vigor, which is on the list of 2nd level cleric spells, and which I have at 'inept', and I have all of my 5 2nd level spells slots empty. However, it tells me 'You do not know that spell'.
What is going on, this is making my playing with a cleric rather unfun...

What are you typing to try and memorise it?
The syntax would be:
if you use any quotes around the spell name then it won't work.

Oh, the quotes got me then. In most cases (feats, skills) you use quotes, so it's a bit inconsistent...

I believe you are confusing training with use. :)
While you can use quotes to cast a spell it's not always necessary, and no feats have a syntax to use thus would not require quotes and use. The same can be said of most skills, though manual ones would not function with quotes.

Well, to cast trollish vigor, for example, you have to use quotes. So why don't you use quotes when memorizing it?
A related problem: my lvl 1 spells look like this:
detect poison cure light cure light
cure light detect magic spider climb
------------------
See the spider climb? Yeah, that's the domain spell. So now I have one more spell slot open. I try to mem cure light and this is what I get:
Your bonus spell slot must be filled with a spell from one of your deity's domains.
You cannot memorise that many spells.
However, when I try mem domain ventriloquism, I am told:
You may only use your domain spells in one spell slot per spell level.
You cannot memorise that many spells.
So what the **** is the empty slot supposed to be for??

Domain spells usually have to fit in like puzzle pieces. Meaning if you get an empty slot you can't fill, you need to forget your domain spell, memorize another spell, then memorize the domain again. Domain spells need to go in that last slot.

This should now be fixed - the domain flag in mem is required to memorize a spell as your domain spell, and it should allow you to do so no matter what your non-domain spells look like.
