Brawling type weapons like cestuses seem to be doing piercing attacks. The first example is with the cestus and the second is bare handed. Its not a huge issue though, I could see a pair of brass knuckles piercing flesh through blunt force.
Code: Select all
It is a cestus in the brawling category of weapons.
It can be picked up, held, held in both hands.
It cannot be worn with any other armour.
It is medium in size and would fit any body type.
It is made of brass and weighs about 4 pounds.
Code: Select all
Your pierce nearly bisects a bandit's chest.
a bandit is bleeding freely.
Your pierce nearly bisects a bandit's chest.
A bandit is stunned, but will probably recover.
Your pulse returns to normal.
A bandit comes to and stands.
A bandit lunges at you from out of nowhere!
You realise a bandit is close to dying and pull your blow.
Your pierce nearly bisects a bandit's right arm.
A bandit is stunned, but will probably recover.
Code: Select all
You stop using a pair of brass knuckles.
A bandit lunges at you from out of nowhere!
You evade a bandit's crushing attack.
A bandit attacks as you close within his weapon's reach!
You evade a bandit's crushing attack.
Your punch nearly removes a bandit's abdomen.
a bandit is bleeding freely.
You grunt as a bandit's kick lands.
A bandit attacks as you close within his weapon's reach!
A bandit's crush deftly hits your right arm.
Your punch nearly removes a bandit's chest.
A bandit is stunned, but will probably recover.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.
Spelling is not necessarily correct

This actually seems more intentional to me than anything. Historically, cestus that were used in combat (mostly by fighters in arenas) had blades, spikes, shards or plates of metal wrapped into them to make them more effective. Common variants of the cestus are the myrmex and sphairai, the myrmex earning the name of "limb-piercer" for doing just that.
What are you talking about? What, that guy?
That was like that when I got here.
