I am not entirely sure how the spell is supposed to function but I would imagine, and according to the helpfile the spell completely immobolises a person. They should be unable to make attacks etc.

I cast the spell on Remiel and seemed to have received a succussful spell ehco yet it appeared to do nothing:-

A sturdy iron nail glows briefly.
You immobilize Remiel with your hold spell.

Your stone skin absorbs some of Remiel's damage.
You sidestep Remiel's piercing attack.
Remiel yells 'You have betrayed me again, my brother!'

<88%hp 88m 96%mv>
Your stone skin absorbs some of Remiel's damage.
Remiel's pierce penetrates your chest.

<87%hp 88m 96%mv>
You sidestep Remiel's piercing attack.

<87%hp 88m 96%mv>
Remiel ducks under your slashing attack.

<87%hp 88m 95%mv>
Your stone skin absorbs some of Remiel's damage.
You sidestep Remiel's piercing attack.
Remiel yells 'You have betrayed me again, my brother!'

Not sure if perhaps he has something cast in the background to avoid the spells effects or anyting in this instance though.
