examine and vendors

Post by Theolund » Sun Feb 10, 2013 5:54 am

I was thinking that perhaps it'd be helpful to all if we could examine more items from a vendor using 2.(keyword) or the actual number listing on the vendor. It's infuriating at times trying to examine an item to see if its the proper armour category or weapon or size for said person

A tip to narrow things down: all items respond to the format of examine 'multiple keywords' merchant.

For instance, if a merchant has two faulds with different names, i.e. a plate fauld with star decor and a plate fauld with skull clasp, "exam 'fauld star' merchant" and "exam 'fauld skull' merchant" would produce different (and detailed) results.

We have also been working on getting this to work again. Problem is that right now which item you EXAMINE is unclear. EXAMINE 2.gold merchant doesn't necessarily examine the second gold item in the merchant's inventory, at the moment. You are best off with Hrosskell's fine suggestion at the moment!

I would suggest just adding the item number of the merchant as part of the identifier. As in, "Examine 1 merchant", to examine item number 1 on the list. This is already in place for the buy command.

Seek ye defeat? Ye shall most certainly find it.
Seek ye nothing? Then all ye can find is victory.
