Feat: Arcane Fluidity

Through training and practice you have learned to cast arcane spells more proficiently while wearing armor or restrictive clothing. Each rank reduces arcane spell failure chance by 10%.
Thinking there could be maybe 2 or 3 ranks total.
Not sure what others think of this, but while playing a battlemage style character I randomly had this idea and figured i would through it out there. What does everyone think?
I don't think this would be overpowering IMO, as in most cases unless multiple ranks are taken there would still be some penalty still applied. And with a limited amount of feat points available i think this would be balanced quite well. Would love to hear everyones thought on the matter though.

There is a Pathfinder feat that is similar.

Arcane Armor Training (Combat)
You have learned how to cast spells while wearing armor.
Prerequisites: Light Armor Proficiency, caster level 3rd.
Benefit: As a swift action, reduce the arcane spell failure chance due to the armor you are wearing by 10% for any spells you cast this round.

Arcane Armor Mastery (Combat)
You have mastered the ability to cast spells while wearing armor.
Prerequisites: Arcane Armor Training, Medium Armor Proficiency, caster level 7th.
Benefit: As a swift action, reduce the arcane spell failure chance due to the armor you are wearing by 20% for any spells you cast this round. This bonus replaces, and does not stack with, the bonus granted by Arcane Armor Training.
We don't have swift actions working yet, as far as I'm aware. So that would be an unnoticeable difference. This would be a useful feat, I think.

Personally, I don't see this feat breaking anything. Most wizards have access to godly levels of armor already, so really this would only be a nice option for invokers (who in FK, as per most 3.5E players' opinions, feel a bit weak) or flavor--or flavorful invokers. lol
+1, solid idea.

If I'm not mistaken, this would also apply to bards wearing more than light armor, not just wizards. So it would be helpful to a bard who dressed in chainmail, for example.

There's SRD for it, so I don't see any problem with it, but if I recall correctly, the chance of spell failure increases per piece of armor that you wear. The feat would only allow you to wear one piece of armor without incurring a penalty.

Our implementation goes off the heaviest piece worn, they don't stack. So if you're wearing a full plate helmet, and leather everywhere else, you'll be penalized the same as wearing a suit of full plate, or 45% chance of failure. Shields do stack with the penalty from armor.

Glad to see some feedback on this. I would love for something like this to be implemented.

Weird. I could swear I remember trying to wear light armor on an arcane archer build I was trying to puzzle together and it stacked per piece. It could be that I wore a lighter piece first and it appeared to stack though. Good to know. I guess it's a good thing that I've been hoarding my last 6 feats.
