examine wrist
a silver wrist sheath contains:
Nothing.
It can be picked up, worn around the wrist.
It cannot be worn with any other armour.
It is medium in size and would fit a humanoid.
This sheath would hold a dagger perfectly.
inv
You are carrying:
a silver wrist sheath (perfect)
an onyx-encrusted steel dagger (perfect)
put dagger wrist
It won't fit.
Also attempted with other dagger types and received same result.

Confirmed:
Code: Select all
[ 8322] ( 10) A silver wrist sheath
[ 618] ( 1) An elf bone dagger (It is a dagger in the short blades category of weapons. It is medium in size)
> oinvoke 8322
> oinvoke 618
> wear i8322
You fit a silver wrist sheath around your wrist.
> put i618 i8322
It won't fit.
However:
Code: Select all
> hold i618
You wield an elf bone dagger in your right hand.
An elf bone dagger feels like a part of you.
An elf bone dagger feels nice and light to you.
> sheath
You stop using an elf bone dagger.
You sheath an elf bone dagger in a silver wrist sheath.
> exa i8322
When you look inside, you see:
a silver wrist sheath contains:
(618) an elf bone dagger (perfect)
So, the problem seems specific to
put.

Incidentally, using sheath I can also fit a bastard sword into this wrist sheath. So it seems like whatever program is doing size checking here doesn't run for sheath, but only for put.

Curious. There is no program on i8322, and it is coded to accept four pounds of contents. The elf bone dagger weighs between .8 and .9 pounds and will not fit with
put, but will with sheath. Objects as much as 7.5 pounds (to include the dagger) will fit with
sheath.
I did not have these issues with a scabbard (i8319) with a 20 pound capacity. Neither did I have any trouble with a wrist sheath of 10 pounds capacity (i20958 - a prototype object). I think the answer is to set value0 to at least 10 and expect people to be reasonable; those who put their flaming swords in their belt pouches,
etc. will likely continue to do so regardless.
Realistically,
a good sword should weight about four pounds anyway.
