Was the patch yesterday suppose to address the quick tiring of the mounts as well?
If so, what should our expectations be as it regards to our mounts? In the past we've been able to take long trips from Waterdeep to Shadowdale without winding our mounts. I would imagine that my mount has mostly been at medium encumbrance, but am I correct to assume that encumbrance wasn't taken into account before for mounts? Are there enhancements coming that will allow us to use Handle Animal to inspect a mount, to determine a pet's encumbrance and relative stats? This would allow us to determine a pet's load while not mounted, and their relative health, especially for those pets that can't be mounted
Stamina expectations with new Stamina system
Re: Stamina expectations with new Stamina system
You could try using the 'speed' command when mounted.
Re: Stamina expectations with new Stamina system
I have, and am thankful for that command.
But given a scenario where my mount is at a medium load with me riding it. I want to dismount, to let it relax... but once dismounted... I don't know if it is still at a medium load, or now a light load. Since I don't know the mount's strength score, I can't really determine how much weight the mount can take.

Re: Stamina expectations with new Stamina system
I dont know if this is a bug, intentional or unintentional but the new changes are seriously affecting player's ability to travel in FK if they are locked to using mounts. Mounts are now eating up so much stamina that it is worth it to buy throw-away mounts, where you ride to a town and just dismiss the mount and buy a new one for the return trip. (done this three times so far) My longsadddle horse with "medium load when mounted" uses up 10% of his total stamina on speed walk just to get to the howling peaks from the south gate of waterdeep. My character uses less stamaina than that when going on foot. About 75% of the horse's stamina is used up to get to berdusk from waterdeep, on speed walk and on the road. Nearly 100% is used up from Waterdeep to Silverymoon on speed walk through the plains. It takes mounts a very, very long time to get stamina back, making it more useful to simple jog there with the character and leave the horse sitting in the stables and use them for a substitute cart or as I said before, buy a cheap mount, gallop to destination then dump it. (Well they won't actually make it anywhere on gallop anymore) Some of the quests have you running all over the game, from Waterdeep to Tantras and back. The horses can't handle it anymore. I cannot imagine how much worse it would be for a full plated character with heavy load on their horse.
