Standardize the harvesting of food from plants?

Can we have a universal command to harvest items from plants?
Sometimes you:
Pluck
Pick
and now even Collect
Any chance we could pick one, even a new one... like harvest?

Try making an alias?
Code: Select all
Alias harvest
Alias harvest pluck & pick & collect
As each command responds only to an item code, the others do not echo if it is not one of the items associated with them. Problem solved and a good use of the newly extended alias list.

That's a very good idea, Gwain.
I have to question whether or not all the "fake" commands are necessary, though. I remember when I first started off on the MUD there were so many non-standard commands (commands not in the "commands" list) it was really daunting. I can't imagine being new again, but it would be nice if there were a standard command such as it seems Wenin is proposing.
I know a large part of the problem is that there are a lot of wild plants out there and it would take a lot of effort identifying them all, but I'm sure we could get them all under control if we worked together.
Anyone else think this is worth pursuing?

the only reason I knew that Collect was a possible command, was because I happened to have notes on the Quest that was given to me to make something. Someone just happening upon the bush would have to play a word guessing game.
I'm not just thinking of myself, and my bad memory, but of new players to the game.
Having an alias maybe a workaround for me, but it won't really help the next person.
