I think that the bandages item we see for sale in the game could be used to remove the affects of backstab since the bandage has to be physically applied and there is no other way to remove backstab. Make it only work if you are sitting and the bandages are applied by another player, that way you can't abuse it.

I'm all for any way to actually benefit from the use of bandages, as one who carries around no less than 5 sets at any given time for the sake of RP as an Ilmateri. Even a cure minor/cure light would be beneficial if the rule applied that someone had to apply it to another who was sitting.

Fantastic idea and doesn't subtract from the absolute nastiness of the backstab ability.

Applying a bandage to remove a class ability effect on demand doesn't feel right to me. Players are required to spend a feat in order to produce this effect and it leads to the discussion of negating other class effects from fighters, priests and wizads though simple and readily available means.

The effect does last a long time for mud time though, It lasts as long as the raise dead effect which I believe is a "Very Long Time." I would recommend it drops to possibly a "Long Time" which may seem long but would be significantly shorter than it already is. A long time would probably be tolerable, but it's current duration is too long for even a patient person to sit through.

I could live with that. As long as srd does not set a concrete time we have the option of reducing the time in question. I would deem it better for a player to sit for 15 to 20 min with backstab affects than 1 to 2 hours. It makes the player less miserable and lets them enjoy the mud.
