I paid 5 platinum to get from skullport to Waterdeep. It took forever to acquire the necessary amount of coin when in a newbie area. Once on the boat, I missed the departure. It returned to Skullport and I was stuck having to pay another 5 platinum.

A couple of suggestions I have:

1) Is it possible to get a code set up to auto kick the person off the boat since it only goes to one place.

2) Beetles and rats give more coin

There are quests and tasks available to young denizens of Skullport that allow them to accumulate coin at a faster rate in the city and environment.

As for the boat, I think the reason it does not automatically discharge players is so that things like mounts, companions or items on the ground can be reacquired. The trip is relatively short, you just have to be alert for the echoes.
