The adjective drive

Hey guys!

It seems 'help adjective' is being sorely ignored for a time. The file has been reworded to make it more clear, though the message is still the same.

To quote:
Adjective
=========
Syntax: adjective <adjective>

The adjective replaces your default descriptive adjectives based on your
appearance with one of your choosing.

Once your adjective is set, it cannot be changed, so choose it carefully.

Your adjective must be under 25 characters in length, and you cannot set your
adjective after level 25.

The adjective replaces the one to two describing words of your character. You
can find out what your current adjective is by glancing at yourself or
looking at yourself.

A tall slender female human is here.

The adjective would replace the words "tall" and "slender". You keep the
articles, sex and race.

An example: If you want to appear as 'a red-haired male human' you would
enter: ADJECTIVE red-haired

An adjective should not be a feeling or an emotion. For instance changing
your adjective to "grinning" would not be appropriate as your character will
not always be so. It does not look right in a roleplay when A grinning male
halfling starts to sob. The best tactic is to choose an attribute of your
character that stands out. For instance hair colour, skin colour, eye colour
scars and so on.

Stray from words that force an impression onto others. Examples of these are
gorgeous, hideous and other words that give a stong impression. Using modest
forms of these words may be appropriate with corresponding charisma.

Colour codes cannot be used in adjectives.
The guideline in the helpfile is given not to killjoy everyone who wants to be an amazingly gorgeous female human, but to offer the means of giving these impressions through roleplay rather than the impression of an adjective. Your character having a high charisma does not guarantee other characters by default find them strikingly beautiful. In fact, they could simply have a magnetic personality with a plain or off putting appearance. It might seem like a futile thing, but choosing a MUD from TMC and logging in to 3 beautiful people in the room where people gather might not impress people coming in for what the point of the game is - dungeons and dragons. Adventure, roleplay etc.

With that I have decided to run an adjective drive! Post here with your character's name and a new adjective, or PM me for privacy and I will change the adjective out to something within the outline of our helpfile of your choosing. If you make this roleplay decision, you may just receive a small token of my gratitude for coming forward rather than my having to seek you out!

I will also be working in game after a week or so of exposure of this thread to help brainstorm adjectives more fitting with players who have not yet come forward, so if you need help feel free to wait for that, or simply PM me now!

I was once so foolish as to set my halforc Thokk's adjective to "blood-covered, feral" which, though at the time I'd seen it as super awesome, is pretty lame. I'd be interested in getting some aid getting it fixed to something more appropriate, with suggestions appreciated. :)

Thanks for holding this.

How about...
A swole red-eyed male half-orc

I have noticed a lack of short people in the game. Almost everyone, including Terageld the 'tall, one-eyed male human', are tall. To combat this I have created a short character and urge others to do so as well.

I'd like to have Rahlkemnon's adjective changed to "bony long-limbed"

Thanks for the adjective drive!

I might as well change my adjective too.
From Terageld, a tall one-eyed male human
to: "stout, one-eyed"

Tomorrow is the last day to come forward and receive a gift for saving me time!

To be clear - it's not an option! If your adjective does not follow the helpfile after tomorrow I will come to you and change it, so if you're putting it off thinking that please get in on the gift instead!

Alright, yeah. Can you help me out with one for Eyja? :D

She's currently 'tall, fair-headed'

Is it too late to have the adjective changed? I would like to change Sithiel's adjective 'rugged one-eyed' Currently it desribes him as the stereotype tall, which I have never played him being.

I would also like to participate in this with one of my characters please. I have a character named Cahl, and I would just like his adjective reset to the default. His hideousness should be shown to all!

I'm late!

Two things, maybe?
1. How could I change Tiyari to show up with a T instead of t on the forums? (pet peeve, I know)
:P

2. I didn't put a comma in Tiyari's adjectives because I didn't know if it was allowed. On other games it wasn't. I don't remember why I thought it wouldn't be here.

I'd like to redo Tiyari's - would an application be more appropriate?

Something a little more ... unique, or else just brown-haired, grey-eyed (instead of gray!) Her desc says "grey" but her adj is gray. Oops
:D

I will catch you in game for the adj, but the forum is not within my power. :) (Or it might be and I just don't know, it's never come up. I'll hit Mask up.)

Hey, Mele? Can I change my adjective again?
I want it change it from "stout, one-eyed" to "scarred, one-eyed" because I've already met like four other people with "stout" in their adjective.
