Time command returns empty line in Halls of Justice kitchen

When I enter the "time" command in the Halls of Justice kitchens (where Thrimba is; room desc enclosed below), I receive an empty line. The "time" command works in all the rooms immediately next to the kitchens.

The kitchen of the Halls of Justice is a well run and ordered place. 
The cook and her helpers bustle about and the smells of fresh bread 
and roasting meats tempt even the most fickle of appetites. Large
ovens make this room rather warm, even in the depths of winter. Small 
tables are scattered along the edges of the room, providing space to 
sit for a quick bite to eat. 
     A row of large ovens burns low with hot embers here. (perfect)
Thrimba the halfling cook is preparing a meal here.
