The Purple Haze

I'll start by saying this-
I like your updated Zhentil Keep Purple Haze, Lady Myn!
Now for the suggestion!
I think it would be really cool if the Purple Haze had a "pocket dimension" feel to it, and it would certainly be within the realm of possibility for Myn to have the connections to make it happen.
By this, I mean that I think both the Westgate Purple Haze (which needs attention) and the Zhentil Keep one should be the exact same place, both points leading to the same VNUM with some manner of QBIT that would remember which city to send characters back to when they leave. This would alleviate the issue of how bland the Westgate Haze is while creating a unique and interesting place for players to interact with.
Myn, I hear tell you have been working on Westgate's Haze and I'm not looking to step on toes with a suggestion, it just happened to occur to me so I though I would mention it.

I really like this idea. To add to it perhaps have a Purple Haze in Menzo or Skullport as well.. Gives a reason for drow players to RP with others, create contacts or trade goods.
This may also help with the issue of to many drow going up to the surface.

Connecting all of these taverns is the greatest idea I've heard in a while. That sounds like an immense amount of fun. Also gives faith events a chance to have visitors from another area more easily.

Might as well connect the Gilded Lotuses as well.

Is this actually ICly realistic? I don't understand how one would build a pocket dimension for themselves. Maybe it'll work better if the Hazes have a portal to some cavern deep underground in the middle of nowhere. *cough* Got the idea from the Shadowdancers of the Gaia webcomic.

There are spells in the canon spell lists that create such pocket dimensions, albeit temporarily. I'd be for the Haze being like that but if many things have the same flavour it starts to taste bland.
As for Skullport getting a Haze, that would be super cool as well.

I do like the idea of all the races being able to meet together in a semi-peaceful environment. I'd finally meet some deep gnomes to drink with.

The primary concern here would be abusing it as a shortcut to pace between areas/cities. It'd have to be were you could only leave to the same area you came in from.

Like I said, a qbit could remember where you entered from and where to send you back to.
Though, maybe for a high premium a mobile might offer to re-anchor you to a different city once inside?

It would fit in with Forgotten Realms Cannon. Just would be extremely pricey to make it happen! Sounds like an awesome idea though.

This seems like a pretty big deal for a place just founded by an adventurer, IMO. There are other inns/shops/dwellings founded by players without as many bells and whistles as this one has without this addition - why is this inn the most special/powerful?
This is just my opinion, not an official statement.

I think its because unlike other inns. the haze is a chain of 2 tavs of which the founding character at least is still around fairly regularly. I'm not so up on Inns and tavs since I sleep in the dirt like a real adventurer though so might be wrong.

You are incorrect on both accounts. :) (I say this politely - meaning there's other inns with multiple inns and other active dwelling/inn owners.)
Edit: Dwellings will not be greatly expanded. Using the idea as a non-dwelling building project is fine to app for. Though those should focus on what they are already building, and not what others are.

I think the difference here is the popularity. As far as PC-run establishments, this one is up there in popularity. Ask PC's to name a few of the most popular INNs and out of the 50+ in Waterdeep and 100+ across the realms, I imagine responces would include: The Purple Haze, the Dripping Dagger, the Lucky Drunk, and a few select others. As such, we can assume that the Haze has a higher profit/income than some inns and has put that money to good use to keep it up with its customers' desires/interests. I also imagine, it may be more cost effective to build one inn and link it across dimensions/regions than to try and build individual inns, especially in hard to navigate territories with limited building resources like the Underdark.
That's just my brain playing devil's advocate.

I think this is a great suggestion.
IMO, The Market Square is to good adventurers as the Purple Haze has come to be known for... non-Good adventurers.
Throughout the history of FK, dwellings have come and gone and were eventually abandoned (as you look around, you'll note) many dilapidated, closed shops and dwellings are scattered throughout the lands. The Haze is one of those places that players, old and new, who do not have the luxury of meeting with old friends in the Market Square, tend to frequent.
There's even some fan fiction online I've stumbled upon, written about the Purple Haze.
Rather than try to limit this interesting location because of its status as a player dwelling, I think it would be cool for us to build upon and expand the Haze as Alitar suggests. It is a place unique to FK which has organically grown from a single player's mission to make a cool dwelling and hangout and has become something quite meaningful for a great deal of our non-Good characters.
In any case, it's still one of my favorite places to go, but allowing that connectivity to be shared among non-Good aligned characters from other cities could help increase the player to player interaction in the game, as well

So good aligns should all have to make their way to Waterdeep Market, but evils should have a pocket dimension that is far too powerful of a creation for a common adventurer to have made? :) In this comparison, currently those two places are not even on equal par, the Purple Haze has many more bells and whistles.
The edit above in my post is a quote from the head builder - so if you would like something like this and have no current building projects feel free to apply for a non-dwelling version.

Can't say I see much good in creating Designated RP Centers in a game full of interesting places to explore and meet up.

On that point, I'd have to say that I've noticed in every mud i've played, the players dictate where the rp centers are and the game does well to support it. There are a bajillion places to roleplay of course but there are only so many players.

Actually the purple haze is more of a place for any sorts and many types to meet. Anonymity is the key to this establishment. It's likely the most popular place among all alignments past and present. Seeing as it's just the most recognizable and well known out there. Any owner if they had the coins and know a wizard or three could talk them into making such a thing occur. If they are of the right school and temperment. Wizards in Faerun are for hire to any with coin and don't assault there sensibilities. But it all lies therein with the owner of said establishment and if she wanted to spend the coin icly on it. Which I don't think would happen. It's a fantastic idea though!
