Even after a successful cast ("You send a kobold warrior off into a magical slumber") sleep wears off immediately and triggers aggro. Deep slumber has the same effect. It triggers aggro immediately whether the cast was successful ("You send a small kobold off into a magical slumber.") or not ("A small kobold resists your attempt to send him to sleep!")

Not sure if it is or isn't a bug but i would like to add that boths pells also do not break combat for the mobs affected. I think it should. Would help give them the use they were intended for.
