This may be a unique quirk to me However, One thing that would improve the gaming experience for me here is if quests waited till you accepted or declined the quest giver before adding themselves to your qlog.

It places an odd feeling of expectation on the character which figuretively makes my eye twitch.

Agree with this. Disturbing to see the quests I've 'accepted' by walking away without responding.
