RMI Scroll Drops

There should be scroll drops of higher level spells from RMI rewards, especially from higher level areas. Currently, it seems like all the RMI scroll drops are fairly useless once you get to that sort of level, considering that most of the drops are level 1 / 2 spells. If we think that higher level spells are too powerful for RMI drops, then perhaps scrolls should be removed entirely from the drop pool, since they are only clogging up space for other RMI items.

I agree. mechanically, it just clogs up the system.
It also doesn't make much sense for a quest to be given to what is obviously a master wizard / cleric by nobility, then be given a scroll of detect magic and a wand of magic missile as reward. If we're being completely IC here, it's like asking someone to go topple ahem, a kingdom of giants and ogres, then paying them 3 gold pieces as a reward. Some neutral and almost all definitely evil aligned characters would be inclined to have their way with the quest giver at the insult and the justified waste of resources and work on their part.

What about taking into account the glory rewards each quest gives?

Just off the top of my head i believe there are some low levle quests that end up giving more glory than higher level ones simply because of how many parts to them there are.
In some near 1 and a half years of play, I've only ever spent glory once. But I recognize many people hound and value it much higher than I do.

When I do a quest, I take into account two or three types of reward, the first is the rmi reward which is based on a random chance. The second is the glory reward which is determined by the complexity, length and difficulty of the quest (Not to mention how generous the quest designer is) and finally, the reward that may yield new skills for training. Personally, I think that potions and scrolls are terrible rewards for rmi, I think that because they have little to no resale value. If I could resell a potion, scroll or wand to a mobile that will actually give me a fair price in return I'd probably think better of them.

I think this is a fair idea in thought, aside from doing away with them entirely. If they were obsolete rewards, would magical weapons, armor, trinkets replace them? We have an abundance of shops overflowing with those items already. (And for casters, anything that frees up a memory slot is pretty awesome in my book & worth obtaining, as well as the opportunity to trade/sell/engage with others for their use.)
Though I would be for slightly raising the percent, (variety, or adding) on higher level rmi scrolls (3rd & 4th level spells?) for quest areas (appropriate from the quest giver) if they're not in the pulling pool already. As far as I am aware however, I do not believe builders can select if it's a low, mid or high rmi section, which I understand as the chance of being random.

Aye. Some of the low level scrolls are worth something to lets say. Drow who's trainers are restricted right? I think potions in general as rmi are a bit lacking. But scrolls have so much potential we just need a wider variety of spells on them up to a higher level. I know some are meant to go out and search, but some of the mid level spells would be excellent! It's like doing some decently harsh quest and getting a scroll of levitate !

If you think that the glory is sufficient reward, then we can do away with RMI scrolls without any substitution. A low level spellcaster will already know most of the spells that he considers useful, and since scrolls don't raise spell levels to anything beyond inept, they end up as the most junked item.
I don't want to disparage the effort that has gone into setting rmi rewards. Nevertheless, it makes no sense to not bring stuff up for review and change if over time something has proven to not work very well. I am only addressing scrolls here.
