New command suggestions

a) block <direction>
the character will move to obstruct a specific exit. Unless certain circumstances are met (sneaking/hiding, someone's flying and the blocker is on the ground, etc.) the exit will not be usable by anyone in this room.
- Useful for a) stopping people who move from room to room so rapidly that they don't realize that you've rp'd blocking the exit; b) pinning down or 'herding' certain mobs that have been rendered untrackable for one reason or another.

b) ransack [item]
Loots all containers (including corpses) in the room that are not being held by a character), taking both items and coin. If the optional [item] is used, it only takes items with the specific keyword.
- useful for when you're looking for something specific (thieves) or if you just want to get everything off of all the goblins you just slaughtered without typing 'get all x.corpse'

c) pillage
ransack's EVIL counterpart. does the same thing ransack does, but it sacrifices all the corpses that it tries to extract stuff from.

d) Arrest or Detain (lawful characters only)
must be executed within the player or mob's hometown, on a player/npc which has used the command SURRENDER, or one that has been rendered unconscious. Transfers the target to an appropriate detention facility within their designated area.
- I acknowledge this one will take a bit of work to actually get done, and that without safeguards, such as logging, it might be subject to abuse.
- would open the door for more trial roleplay.

e) carry <player or corpse>
useful for both rescue and capture roleplay, this command would allow the user to lift the target off the ground (if they can manage to carry whatever they're carrying + the weight of the target + the weight of whatever the target is carrying). This would allow for more rapid ex-filtration than:
drag blarg s
grag blarg e
drag blarg w
etc...

Just some thoughts I had. :)

One could already accomplish this via a combination of smotes and poses. Smotes for those already in the room, pose for the benefit of those you mentioned who might not know what's going on when they walk in. Untrackable mobs are untrackable for a reason; probably good to keep it that way.

One can accomplish this, albeit imperfectly, with alias(es).

This one, also, can be achieved with smotes and the like. There really is no limit to what a pair/group can accomplish with smotes if everyone's on the same page. :D

While you can already carry corpses with a simple "get corpse", carrying living (N)PCs might not be really necessary. Usually if I want to do this, I'll give a quick otell to the other player asking for a very rough estimate of their full weight to make sure I can carry it, then smote lifting them up and either having them just follow or dragging them if they're unconscious. As for the verboseness of drag, it's something one can easily whip up a quick alias for (my norm is "alias , drag <charactername> %"). So it cuts it down to just three characters per move and then delete the alias when you're finished.

That's not to say these aren't good or bad ideas, just offering some already available suggestions to consider. Hope it helps some. :)

We also have the report crime option, that lets any character that witnesses a crime in a city report it to the crime board mob in the courthouse. The crime is then posted and the mobs in the area will arrest. This only lasts as long as you are logged in though.

From over ten years of immortal play these immediately red flag out as hugely and easily abused commands.

Blocking an exit, blocking someone in a room with code, gives the player no escape options. If I'm trying to escape quickly for ooc reasons and Joe decided he's not done with me he could block me in for his own emotional needs.

Ransack and pillage on a PC corpse is giving people the opportunity in one swift command not only to over loot, but to sacrifice a body. Both of which are against rules.

Arrest and detain are things already once abused by tired, drained players with commands too powerful for their own good. People will jail someone for sneaking if they see fit, and have. There is a reason the Waterdeep watch was shut down.

Carry corpse is literally get corpse. I'm not sure I see a difference?

Just a hairy eye from the sky perspective. :)

I see the bulk of your points. I might suggest making code blocks a thing /if/ you either a) log it; or b) put in a way to counter it?

But as to the bit I quoted, I wasn't talking about player corpses. I was talking about not-dead players who (ICly) are either unconscious or too injured (for example if they lost both legs in a fight) to move under their own power.
