Selune's bi-weeklies NEXT: TBA

Post by Mele » Tue Jan 09, 2018 8:43 pm

I will use this thread rather than casual events to communicate my weekly rps.

This past week there was a big player run rp.

Expect the mystery rp soon!

Be sure to check the Adventurers guild post about my weekly rps. So far we have had a ton of fun together with mermaids and escape rooms and yetis!

The Starvation Festivities

Post by Mele » Sat Jan 13, 2018 3:48 am

COME ONE COME ALL TO THE STARVATION FESTIVITIES

Have an account full of alts you never played? Or you want to make a lowbie but not commit to a full level 50 life? Have I got a game for you!

Come one come all to the Starvation Festivities!

Starting from this notice you will be welcomed to create an alt and get them to level ten. You will be given a week or two (likely two) to bring their level up. Any race, any class, any alignment. Make your way to Waterdeep. Be cautious of your kismet because ...

At the end of this time period, you will all be thrown into an arena with nothing but cloth to cover your bodies and a loot pile to fight over. (Did you pick up a +2 sword or a cursed ring??)

The catch? When you die, it's PERMADEATH.

Let me make sure I'm super extra clear here. FOREVER DEAD. DELETE. KAPUT. NO MORE EXIST. GONE.

Bring your characters to roleplay around Waterdeep as you build them up. "I'm in Waterdeep for the Starvation Festivities! Nice to meet you." Make friends, build potential alliances and most importantly potentially get sponsors.

All of this sound too much, too crazy for you? Become a sponsor! If you're a sponsor you can use your high level established alt not to participate in the fighting, but to send potions and other items of use during the all out starving brawl.

And if I wasn't clear enough: The alt you enter WILL BE DELETED UPON DEATH.

Dust off those old alts wasting space! Make new ones! Schmooze up Waterdeep for sponsors!

To the winner go the spoils of : Being alive! A full set of gear to begin their life in Waterdeep. They came here for the games, but they rather like it here so now they'll stay!

Sponsors

Post by Mele » Sat Jan 13, 2018 4:00 am

Want to Sponsor? Here is how it will work.

DURING the festivities only is when you can provide whomever you are cheering for with help.

Dependent on the number of entries, you will be able to sent an item per every x number of deaths.

Example, if we have 20 people in, you can send an item every 4 deaths.

Cost: Each time you want to send an item the price will increase per chance. Using 20 people and 4 deaths as an example you would have 4 opportunities to send items. So it would look like this:

1st : 50 plat
2nd : 100 plat
3rd : 150 plat
4th : 200 plat

In the end, the pot of platinum would go to the winner of the festivities. Further, the sponsor who helped the most would receive a token of appreciation from the host of the festivities.

Make them EARN your sponsorship IC! Don't sponsor just anyone!

Will the arena be everyone in the same room, or will there be multiple rooms to break up the fight a bit?

I'll cross-post this here - but I just wanted to say that you guys are killing it on the event and RP front. Thanks loads from someone who walked away when I thought things got stale for a little while. I am very excited to be back and see what you guys keep doing.

I would like to follow up Arnof's post with one of my own...I think all of these sessions have been great. I'm even excited OOCly about these Starvation Games... now, IC is another matter. But I think the Starvation Games opens up something about morality. Of course, playing as a squire/soon-to-be paladin -- this kind of event is going to spur on a deeper level of RP. Yes, it's a fun event - where (my goodness) you can finally get rid of some of your alts that you tried but realized they weren't fun to play. But there's some real RP to be had here as well.

Anyway, I want to send my kudos to all those involved. And while being a naysayer to the IC event is IC... OOC, I'm all for it. Keep up the great work.

Hey guys! Let's start getting a numbers idea.

Are you entering? Are you close to ten? Will you be ten by this weekend? Should we extend it another week?

I am entering, I am level 10!

I am totally and utterly busy Friday evening 1-26, and all of Saturday 1-27, so I wouldn't be opposed to taking an additional week if it meant I could attend. I am tremendously excited about this.

Extending this a week. I've heard from 2 entries this weekend is bad for them, and another player posted an event for this Saturday.

That day works for me but the time doesn’t—I won’t be home til about 2 1/2 hours past that due to work. I definitely don’t mind being a bit late but I imagine it’ll be over by that time. :)

A little later is also better for me. We will go with majority between the two.
