Gatherings of the Church of Tyr

To the Faithful of our Just God:
The thirteenth day of this month will again mark the Maiming, and ye
all are invited and welcomed to attend the ceremony's observance at His
high altar in Waterdeep. Let us be reminded and rejoice in our wounded
father's valor and sacrifice to the cause of order and goodness across
the planes.
Those aspiring and yet uninitiated are likewise welcome to join us, to
learn more of the Maimed God and His holy word of truth and justice.
Appropriate ceremonial garb will be provided to those who have not,
and following the ceremony proper will be a discussion of church busi-
ness which faithful shan't be well served to miss.
Yours,
Dame Elisabeth, Keeper of the Balance
OOC: Here is the
Proposed time. We will meet then unless there are objections. Active faithful/hopefuls are strongly encouraged to attend to get yourselves involved and updated.

Reminder: This is on Thursday evening. Tyr's hopefuls and faithful are all welcome. Should there be IC questions appropriate for addressing at a general gathering of the church, feel free to mail them to Elisabeth ahead of time.

I've not yet heard from anyone regarding the plans earlier discussed. In the interest of not rushing myself, if I don't hear from you by Friday, I'll have to assume you're a no.
Joust of Peace: Hastilude of Remembrance

Cavaliers, squires, and all honorable men-at-arms:
The Church of Tyr is soon to sponsor a joust of peace in honor and re-
membrance of all, be they Grimjaws' child or otherwise, who have served
and given of themselves in the name of Justice across the realms. Dame
Elisabeth marshall humbly invites ye all to join and partake of fair,
like company and honorable sport on the field of battle. Contests will
progress in an elimination format, wherein victors in each round will
go on to face their fellow victors. The best among us shall be awarded
a prize of the church's giving.
To fund prizes, food, and rebated weapons (which will be provided), an
entry fee equivalent to five platinum pieces will be collected from
combattants at registration; spectators are welcome to attend free of
charge. The gathering place is a day's ride east from Luskan, upon the
plains betwixt the Blackford Road and the Spine of the World. Further
details to be posted below.
Yours,
Dame Elisabeth
OOC:
Who: Monstrous races, evils, very chaotic PCs, and enemies of Tyr generally will be barred from entering the contest. They may spectate but do so at their own risk. (Although see
here and another post soon to come for events more suited to you wicked/unruly sorts
.
When:
12 November at 9pm EST
How: This is intended to be a semi-formal to informal joust. By that I mean, for this at least, we're not going to employ any scoring systems or the likes outside what code gives us; rather, I'd like to feel out interest for this sort of roleplay before trying anything too grand. Bouts will consist of the following, in order:
- three passes total on killmode spar with the lance,
- three passes total on killmode spar with the sword, axe, or spike,
- and completion of the bout by stun or surrender on killmode stun with the sword, axe, or spike.
All weapons will be provided. Magical trinkets (save holy symbols) and spell effects are forbidden; magical armor and shields are fine. Combattants need not possess the mounted combat feat to participate, but be aware that "sword, axe, or spike" means that you are going to be relying on a one-handed weapon after the lances are through, so bring a shield!
Mounts must be kept on killmode nofight for the duration of the fighting, and (for RP purposes, their killmode notwithstanding) must be mundane, mortal horses. Any combattant who strikes a horse directly will be disqualified (and most grevously dishonored!).
See you there.

This is in a few hours! To be super duper clear, the Casual Events thing is separate, more private/informal/a way to allow evils and whoever else to pas through and hang out for a bit. The contest itself is at 9pm EST as above. Sorry to any I confused!
Service unto the Triad: Ilmater

Attention:
The Church of Tyr calls upon ye who hold truth, duty, and compassion in
your hearts to ally in threefold service to the holy Triadic Powers, to
Enduring Ilmater, Loyal Torm, and Just Tyr. These three services are to
be given on three days, one for each Power, and will ask of ye strength
of arm, valor and largesse of heart, and justness of mind all. Any who
oppose Light or Law are not welcomed.
The first task is given for the Church of Ilmater the Crying God, which
operates the Cloister of Saint Ramedar on the southern coast, for those
who suffer in mind and want for care. Word tells of trouble come to the
place, a darkness to threaten warden and patient alike. Let our forces
join outside the Zazesspurian gates on the below day, that we might rid
what evil creeps within.
Transcribed by order of the Keeper of the Balance:
Dame Elisabeth Marshall
OOC:
Here is the time for the first quest. These are meant to be rather casual and, to be clear, not involving any faithing or secret dogma sort of stuff, which are of course left to their respective churches.
Of the Three

We who would uphold order across the Realms are charged to be ever vig-
ilant and steadfast, that we might foresee an uprise of chaos and repel
its corruption ere it can be left to fester. We who would see the prin-
ciples of righteousness rule our lands are bidden to cast the light of
truth upon that which lurks in shadow, to reveal its treachery and burn
away its vileness. But what, when Strife is fallen and Darkness is but
ash and dust, when the sweet fruit of our labour is come at last, when
king and common man alike feel able to rest without Fear?
I humbly invite all who disdain neither Light nor Law to convene at the
time posted below for discussion and activity regarding three prominent
historical figures and the legacy left in their wakes. It is hoped that
this gathering will be valuable to both the student of history and the
practitioner of just warfare. We shall explore vaults little-known and
even less entered and, armour'd in faith and arm'd with conviction, let
come what may. May we meet in good health upon the Cynosure courtyard.
Yours,
Dame Elisabeth Marshall
OOC:
Time here, adjustable, as always, if needed.
An advanced heads-up for Tyrrans: Keep an eye out for an event aimed specifically toward the faithful some time mid to late next month, in addition to the monthly usual, regarding some ideas I have been working on. If you'd like to attend to get some RP going and share your input, feel free to PM me in the next few weeks with your best times available so I can try to get us all together.

Keep an eye out for an event aimed specifically toward the faithful...
I've not heard from anyone on this, so I'll wait on it maybe for another time.
