OOC: So, this is going to go pretty much the same as before: you'll be givenThe church of Waukeen is proud to present the mid-year Mithril Chef Waterdeep
Competition, this time in honour of the festival of Huldark! As before, the
contest will take place in the ballroom of the Temple of Beauty in Waterdeep,
which will be outfitted with ovens, counters, and any tools you might need to
cook up your own original masterpieces.
The cooking will take place in three rounds: Appetizer, entree, and dessert.
In each round the contestants will be provided a basket of food that they must
incorporate into their meal in some way. Because Huldark celebrates the bounty
of the land every secret ingredient will be a fruit or a vegetable (or possibly
a fungus). Naturally, chefs will also have access to our larder for general
purpose ingredients, ie. salt, flour, butter, and just about anything else you
might want to cook with (Important note: Eggshells are not edible.)
In each course the dishes will be awarded ten points for originality, ten for
taste, and ten for plating. The lowest scoring contestants will be hacked and
the other contestants will move on to the next round, until the final dessert
round will decide the ultimate winner!
The prize for this culinary showdown will be twenty bags of Multifruit Seeds,
which will provide you with a bounty of assorted fruits for your various new
masterpieces. There is also an additional secret prize that will be revealed
only on the day of Huldark.
a piece of parchment that you can use to describe your dish. Here's an example
of what we're looking for:
Code: Select all
Bananas Foster & Toffee Ice Cream
Appearance: This dessert consists of slices of bananas cooked and caramelized to
a fine shade of golden brown, speckled with crispy darker bits. The butter and
sugar has thickened into a sweet caramel that clings to the bananas, and it gives
off a faint scent of banana liqueur. There's a dollop of creamy white ice cream
served up on the side of the dish, slowly melting into the sizzling hot bananas,
speckled with small bits of toffee.
Taste: The bananas are sweet and soft, with only a hint of char here and there
to slightly offset the otherwise overwhelming sweetness. The ice cream is decadent
and rich, with crunchy pieces of toffee to lend a little texture to the dish.
