Suggestions for Getting Spouse to Try

Post by Hadwyn » Tue Apr 21, 2020 6:24 pm

Hey guys,

I am sure this has come up a few different times, but I was not able to easily found it to look at ideas others have suggested. I am currently working on getting my spouse to join the Forgotten Kingdoms community. She is interested in D&D as a concept, but has no real background. She is also someone where English is a Second Language. Here is how I have been trying to frame it:

1. It is really fun to interact with other people to tell a story
2. You tell the story rather than the story dictating what you do (open story MUSH vs. RPG video game)
3. You will increase your vocabulary
4. You will increase your reading speed and comprehension
5. You will increase your typing speed and some hand-eye coordination

What are some other things you guys consider positives of playing a text-based RPG, as well as, how to address limiting beliefs with regards to learning the content of the game and being welcome into the community?

Thanks all in advance for your thoughts.
