Nelaya's quest has worked out well as an event and it's encouraged me to get off the dime on my own idea.

Sir Harroghty has put out a call for adventurers to amplify a call from the Swordcaptain at King Palaghard's Bridge along the Way of the Manticore in Cormyr. Adventurers are being sought to contain a sudden incursion of foreign banditry from Sembia and the Thunder Peaks preying upon merchants and yeomen alike. Young adventurers who would be welcome in Cormyr are invited to answer the call to help by gathering in Immersea at an appointed time.

I would like to keep the adventuring party smaller in order to let everyone really be involved. Goal is five or six PCs from players with less than one year's tenure. I can scale the combat challenges to the group we end up having, but the challenge here is really meant to be more about roleplay than just hacking enemies. The event will consist of four sessions, each meant to be action packed and concise (not all night).
