Spookyfest Ball

Greetings, spooky adventurers!
It is your local Mya with an important seasonal message!
Have you noticed that perhaps the nights are starting to feel a little darker, colder, shrouded in mists and mysteries, that they leap upon us a little sooner every other evening? Perhaps you've witnessed startling spectacles in the shade beneath the boughs of ancient trees, flittering ghosts and mischievious pixies with the skulls of unknown creatures hiding their no-doubt terrifying visages?
Well, if you're wondering what that's all about, wonder no more, dear friends! For the Spookyfest season is well upon us, and the day of Haunts is nearly here! We'll* be holding a fantastic ball in honour of the season this year, albeit a little late, in the House of Beauty, the spookiest place in Waterdeep (for those who fear commitment)! With candy, cakes, and prizes in all sizes and shapes, but primarily in the size and shape of coins. Lots of coins!
Everyone who attends is encouraged (read: required) to wear some sort of costume, though precisely what you dress up as is entirely up to you. Dress up as monsters, heroes, friends, enemies, you can even dress up as the gods themselves if you don't mind potentially being singed around the edges by a bit of holy flame.
There are, more specifically, two contests being held during the duration of the ball:
The first! Unsurprisingly, is a costume contest! The most popular costume, as voted on by you at a random time of the host's choosing, will win a pouch of coin, a sack of cakes as chosen by the one and only Galuchin family, so you can be assured of their utmost quality and delicacy, and a pick from a sack of prizes.
The second! It is a spooooky story contest! Your story doesn't need to actually be scary; comedies, tragedies, and whatever else you might be able to cram into the theme of Spookyfest are all welcome. It does, however, need to contain at least one element to tie it into the season. Prizes are the same as with the costume contest, a pouch of coins, a sack of cakes, and a pick from a bag of prizes.
And now, for the moment you've all been no doubt waiting for with bated breath! The Spookyfest Ball is being held at the following arcane and cryptic time:

* Spookyfest Ball the First is being sponsored by the Church of Tymora and hosted by Mya Galuchin. The aforementioned parties take no responsibility for any lost shoes, socks, juice, costumes, souls, sanity, or cakes.
