Hold monster

The hold monster spell, I know I used to be able to cast it at a distance..but a couple of weeks or so ago I noticed I couldn't anymore. I figured that was probably how it was supposed to be and didn't think anything else of it. But then I just looked at the help file and it says it is supposed to be ranged. Anyone know which way it is supposed to be? Right now you cannot cast it as a ranged spell.Hold Monster

Target: Defensive
Syntax: cast 'hold monster' <target>
The subject becomes paralyzed and freezes in place. It is aware and breathes
normally but cannot take any actions, even speech. Hold Monster affects any
creature and is the strongest of the hold spells.
This spell cannot be learned by an invoker
