To all of Waterdeep,

I am beginning to work on the codification of a full legal system for our fair City, incorporating what was decided by the Lawmakers, along with tidying up systems and the like. However, I don't want it to seem like it is just from the Lords. For that end, I will be in Waterdeep a lot over the next few months. Please approach me in the Font or the Square, and we can have discussions about what laws you would like there to be.

I make no promises your suggestions will be adopted. Some will naturally be impractical. But I will listen to every serious suggestion given to me. You can pass on ideas to the other Lords of course, and they will see they are passed on to me.

People of Waterdeep,

We in the Lords are close (perhaps in one revision or two), to reaching agreement on a first draft of a document. To that end, I am now inviting anyone interested in having a say on our laws, to approach me via post, messenger or face-to-face, concerning this.

Are there any Lawmakers still about who would like to add their comments to these documents? Are there any followers of Tyr, Oghma, Torm, (or indeed, any faith with individuals devoted to law) who wish to contribute? Conversely, are there any followers of a more chaotic religion who might want to hold a mirror to the excesses of law and say whether some things are needed, or not? Please respond and let me know whether you wish to comment, read and aid us.

Any comments from anyone are welcome.

OOC: Basically, I think we're almost finished at our end. We'll end up with two documents, soon. One, the "Code Legal" (I may swap some names around), which describes processes, basic laws, approaches, sentencing guidelines, etc, is pretty much done and if anyone wants to look at this document (it's a word document at present, standing at 10+ pages, collating much of the work done over about three years on this MUD), reply below, or PM me if you want it kept private, with your email address and I can email the documents to you (ICly it'd be a copy of the laws by private messenger! ). The second one is going to be as many individual laws as we can think of, summarised and explained, which people can also comment on. That isn't done yet, but its my project for this week, so this can be emailed to people very soon (this is the document that requires most work, and it may take longer than a week to approach the point that the "Code Legal" has reached, because it needs to be reviewed by the Lords). Anyway, let me know, it'll be good for any characters who've been RPing a considerable interest in laws of any kind.
