Arctic Dwarves
Arctic Dwarves, or as they call themselves, "Inugaakalikurit," are the isolated inhabitants of Faerun's northern realms, mostly living in the mountains at the heart of the Great Glacier. These dwarves have recently begun spreading to new settlements around the Silver Marches, but for the most part are content to live in quiet isolation.
Unlike other dwarves, Arctic dwarves rarely stand more than three feet tall and are nearly as broad as they are tall. Because they take delight in sunbathing and exhibit little discomfort when exposed to the sun's rays, they tend to have ruddy, tanned, or burned complexions. They often sport short beards and curled mustaches, but the most noticeable difference between them and their cousins is a less dour nature. Also, they are unique in that they tend to take little interest in mining, preferring to spend their time hunting, raising children, or in leisurely pursuits.
One of the few similarities between Arctic dwarves and their cousins is their distrust of arcane spellcasting, though for them this extends to clerical magic as well. These rugged individuals generally favor the classes of Ranger, Fighter, and Barbarian. * This race is not available for creation at this point in time.
