Avariel Elves

The Avariel, also known as winged elves, are without a doubt the
most reclusive, and least populous of all the elven subraces of
Faerun. While many scholars have long dismissed them as mere myths
Avariels have long hidden in remote regions of Faerun and still dwell
there to this day, safe in their hidden homes.

As the name implies, Avariels are elves with wings. Their soft
feathered wings, reach a span of anywhere from 12 to 16 feet, and are
usually white, though gray brown, and black are not unheard of. With
porcelain skin, sometimes faintly silver or blue tinged, and often
silver, or black hair, they are striking to behold. Their eyes are
incredibly expressive, coming in shades of blue or green, with an
occasional violet, almost amethyst in color. They stand around 5'9,
and are thin, with graceful limbs, and angular features. They are
by far the most beautiful of the elves, though this often is marred
by a prideful disdain of their landbound kin, whom they pity.

Like most elves, Avariels are masters of both arcane and divine
spellcasting, and take great joy in discovering new things of magic.
Also like their landbound cousins, Avariels respect the Seldarine,
though their true worship is often reserved for Aerdrie Faenya,
Goddess of the Skies, weather, and avians. As a race Avariels are
deeply religious though they haven't crossed the boundry into
fanatacism.
