Certain spells and attacks can render a player blind. The duration
of the blindness can vary depending on the nature of the cause of
said blindness (e.g. blindness caused by the gouge skill will tend
to be shorter in duration than that caused by the blindness spell).
If blinded, you will be unable to use the 'look' or 'glance' commands
and you will be unable to see characters or mobiles in the room, items
on the ground, and exits. You may still move about and you will still
be able to use the 'inventory' and 'equipment' commands.
Being blinded will penalize your melee fighting abilities. The blind-
fight feat can reduce these penalties.
