The Combat Carnival is under new management and they have an
enormous account to fund their renovations. Veterans of the
Carnival may recognize the place, but only barely: the newly
self-appointed manager of the place, Helyos, has a powerful,
frightening thirst for blood that his predecessor did not.
Helyos and his company, the Renegades, are a tough mercenary
band from Chessenta. Many are veterans of Akanax's vicious,
bloody tournaments and their time spent in the soft lands on
the North side of the Sea of Fallen Stars have hardly dulled
their edge.
Tales spread of vicious contests to the death, played out to
the tune of blood-mad howls from wealthy spectators. Tough,
daring (reckless!) fighters are said to compete there.
