Experience
Syntax: level Your character's capabilities can grow, but this requires gaining experience. Expereince is required to train any skill, trade, or weapon, as well as to advance your character's level. Ways to gain experience: * inflicting damage upon an opponent * completing certain quests * as a reward for good roleplay The experience you gain depends on several things: * if you are in a group with characters with levels similar to your own, you will gain bonus experience * more experience is gained the higher your opponent's level is relative to your own Ways to lose experience: * fleeing from combat * recalling out of combat * finding yourself the victim of certain spells, like enervation/energy drain * being attacked by a vampire or other creature with an energy drain ability * finding yourself brought back to life via the raise dead spell Note: Combat experience is awarded at the conclusion of combat (when you can freely walk away). The amount is proportional to the damage you inflict in the battle. Type 'level' to see how far you are from the expereince required to advance to the next level. This is represented by a phrase that will give you an idea of how close you are. Once you have enough experience, you must visit a trainer in order to train your level. There are various level trainers around the kingdoms, capable of training to different maximum levels. * There is an experience cap per level to prevent players from gaining an inordinate amount of experience while at low levels and thereby advancing more quickly than they should. * Max level on Forgotten Kingdoms is 50.
