The sands of the Anauroch are harsh and unforgiving. However, some nomadic
tribes happen to make their life in these wastes. Nivek, a small human boy,
happened to be one such nomad. His tribe was one of hunting and of combat;
fierce warriors were raised, conditioned to the desert heat and harsh
conditions of the Anaroch. While hunting one day with his father, Arbb' Kin, a
dark man crossed paths with the rest of the tribe. Without warning, he cast
several incantations, burned runes in the desert sand, and trapped the tribe
within a prison of stone. Upon returning, both Arbb' Kin and Nivek were
horrified. Arbb' Kin charged Nivek with the safety of the stone statues as he
went to search for the man who did this. Several years passed...
Nivek had grown to become an able bodied young man. His days were filled with
training, hunting, and meditating, all within sight of the stone statues, which
were once his kinsmen. Although never exposed to the powers of good and evil,
he deduced that this happened because of something wrong he had done. He tried
to live his life in the light, rigidly staying to his path. His father was
gone, and this he accepted. Because his father sought vengeance, he was
punished. Nivek swore that he would find a cure for his tribesmen, instead of
seeking blood. As he set out, he journeyed to the west where he heard
many powerful mages lived.
The sands of the Anauroch and time have swallowed his tribe, and Nivek, the last
living remnant of his people, joined the faith of the Vigilant One in order to
protect others. The solider is strengthened by his losses, always
willing to protect the weak.
