Title
Syntax: title <text>
This command allows you to set your title (as shown in the 'who' list) to the text of your choice. Your title might state your name, occupation, class, or faith. It must be ICly appropriate, and should be a description of your character, not of what they are currently doing. It should also be a true title, such that if what shows on the 'who' list is said or yelled by a mob in referring to you (as they are at times wont to do!), it makes sense.
For example, "Elminster the Archmage of Shadowdale" would be an acceptable title, while "Elminster is seeking Storm cos he lost her" would not.
If your title begins with a comma, the space between your name and the title will be elided. For example, title , priest of the True God would set your title to "Somechar, priest of the True God".
Titles are considered to be IC information, and you may use information from another character's title in-character, but only if your character could reasonably know that information (perhaps by hearsay). For example, a resident of Waterdeep might well recognise a renowned paladin of Tyr, but a Drow who has lived in Menzoberranzan all her life probably wouldn't.
Prestige classes cannot be titles without sending in an application. * If you are holding a note in your hand, TITLE will title the note, rather than change your character's title.
* Titles must be written in English, not any other language, and should not be comprised solely of punctuation. Use the default title if you cannot think of one. * Your title should not include another characters name. Titles should not be set to , or any other punctuation.
