Help file clarification
Help file clarification
Could we get a clarification for the help file "help constitution"? It's ambiguous whether or not increasing the ability bonus while leveling will retroactively increase the character's hit point total, and there's no obvious way to check. Some editions of D&D grant retroactive hit points and some don't, so it would be nice to know before deciding how to spend stat points.
Re: Help file clarification
Yes, your hitpoints will increase no matter when you train your Constitution.
e.g. I began with a level 1 PC with 15 CON and 20 hitpoints (HP); I increased his level to 15 and now he had 152 HPs. I had him train CON once (now 16) and his HP increased to 167. Then I reduced him to level 1 again (back to 20 HP) and then advanced him to level 15 again. His HP returned to 167.
