Ignite bodies

Post by Kaaurk » Thu Jan 24, 2013 3:19 am

Would it be difficult to make it so that the corpses of your fallen foes could be ignited to cremate them instead of having to light a fire first?

Not very hard, but I am not sure about doing that.

I don't think you can ignite a body without it being dried out or soaked in highly flammable substances. Adding it to an existing fire is usually the rule of the day.

but if we needed fuel to start the body on fire we would really need a flint and steel to light the actual fire but we don't need it to use the skill.

Depends how far you are willing to go in the name of roleplay or suspense of disbelief. There are items in game like matches and flints to rp starting fires, but the code allow you to only have the necessary fuel to create fire on its own. If I wanted I could pull these things out and rp with them to ignite a fire. Icly I do use things like oil to facilitate bigger fires to cremate bigger remains, though I've seen people use single pieces of charcoal to cremate multiple large corpses, which is fine in my opinion because we can't be expected to carry large amounts of firewood everywhere and sometimes its the only way to gain favour. Its all up to preference and the limitations of code itself.
