Tiefling languages

Post by Nylo » Sun Apr 14, 2013 11:32 pm

I'd like to suggest that tieflings be given the ability to learn the abyssal and infernal tongues. Per the source books, it's common for them to learn one or both.

Edit - Races of Destiny and the Planar Handbook do give them infernal as an automatic language. Aasimar also get celestial. But given how they are raised, or who their ancestors are, I don't know that they should get it as an automatic language. Some tiefs may not have learned it, others may not wish to spend a language slot learning it. Maybe as another quest in the Tiefling Cave, the option can be presented once their bloodline is awakened.
"Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore!" "'Tis as impossible that he's undrowned as he that sleeps here swims." "I'm begging you please wake me up, In all my dreams I...."

I wasn't suggesting it be given to them. I was suggesting they be able to learn it. Currently it's restricted to priest and wizard class, if I remember right.

I think that it is a fair suggestion and might lend itself to some RP as well (the learning of their heritage...)
