Unable to apply 'persistent spell' to spells that can be cast on others.
Why? I know a character/player that took these feats (extend and persistent) for the benefit of divine favor and others being persistent, but is now unable to do so. I'd like to suggest this be changed, or at least added to the help file.
Edit: For clarification, divine favor works as a persistent spell, but most others that would benefit the character do not.
Edit 2: The help file already states this in obvious big red letters that I completely missed. YAY! But, my other point still stands - I suggest this limitation is removed.

Note that this feat only affects spells with a range of "Personal"
Persistent spell on any spell would be way, way too powerful. Imagine people would walk around persistently spelled with all the stat buffs, flight, every single resistance...
Also it's just what D&D does as well...

I don't know. It makes the spell require a slot 6 levels higher, which is quite a disadvantage: "fly" now becomes a 9th level spell, and "resist" an 8th level spell. Using it with stoneskin would be impossible.
OTOH, if SRD says it works that way, it seems reasonable to leave it. I will update the helpfile for the feat to be slightly more explicit, though.

It's not a huge advantage in a tabletop game, because you prepare spells once a day, but on FK you could memorize all your buffs, cast them, then sit down and memorize offense spells in their place, and have plenty of time to train before you had to stop and recast buffs.

What about some sort of greater extended spell feat? Not as long as persistent spell, which may be too powerful, but longer than the current spell extension at two or three levels higher casting cost. I would even be in favour of a longer casting time if it meant not having to deal with casting it as often. A duration where it lasts most of an average adventure/medium sized dungeon. You cast right before you enter a dungeon and renew it right before the final boss/level would be ideal to me.

If only this were Netheril and spell slots went to level 12... *drool*
As Solaghar stated though, it is straight from canon, so I have no beef with it the way it is. I view Persistent Spell Feat as the talent of prolonging personal cantrips (0) and minor spells (1-3) like darkvision or flight. Levels 4-6 are considered to be lesser spells and levels 7-9 are greater spells, so they already have a balanced duration mechanic based on their more powerful effects as compared to the lower level spells. In any case, Extend Spell already doubles the spell duration of any spell from levels 0-8, so it just comes down to your skill with the higher level spells.
