[ITEM] Lockable Carts

Just a thought I had. My PC is basically a nomad... I kind of want them to be able to live out of a cart instead of using giantkin as pack mules, but carts are too easily robbed unless you keep them in the same room with you at all times. The thought was more along the lines of being able to park the horse and cart in a 'camp' nearby, while my PC explores his latest discovery and defies death, etc...

I guess it would have to be some sort of mprog on the NPC that sells them so that it will generate a key to give your PC when they buy one of the carts. Maybe the cart could even be customizable like some of the tailor shop outfits are.

The carts I have in mind would still be subject to thievery, but it would take a PC with a sufficient level in a skill/spell to do it, instead of someone just being able to happen by, open it, and take their pick of the loots.

In addition, the option to pay more for better locks or locks that are also trapped would be cool... it could possibly be part of the customization option.

How do we personalize the keys? Normally one key would open all of the same type of cart.

I don't know much about building or the prog for locks in FK, but I was thinking it could use keywords.

The NPC that generates the key would also add your PC's name as a keyword on it. The prog on the cart would check the key for a keyword that matches the name of the current owner of the cart.

I guess the NPC could also offer to replace lost keys in the event that you lock yourself out of your cart.
