Dentistry Trade

Post by Gwain » Wed Jul 07, 2004 3:05 am

Dentistry is an interesting thing, both essential and a part of most ages. Though it might just be a fancy and not essential in life the rp situations might be quite good. a Trade to basically pull the teeth out of mouths.

For example, if a tooth is pulled out it can be used in jewelry, or even as a spell component.

Plus since there are so many sweets in the mud a new angle of rp can be established, one involving tooth decay. Finding the means to remvoe teeth and setting a cap on the number of teeth you can remove from a character can also be established.

I LOVE this idea, Gwain! *cheer* You'd have special dental tools and everything. And every so often if your tooth was decaying, you'd get the same echo as if you were starving or dying of thirst, and you'd get the 1% or 2% health knocked off, too. Not sure whether you'd be able to die from it or not, unless it were a horribly absessed tooth.

Hmm, maybe there could be a candymaking trade to go along.

Maybe false teeth or gold teeth for those who have teeth pulled? Could be a "worn about the face" type of item.

Great idea, Gwain :D.

I love that idea, but I don't think we should lose health, we should just have the echo. False teeth are great, they might go hand in hand with the wood crafting trade.

I always get viewed on the exact times of the settings around me. What special tools would you have? lol I am thinking nothing more than a small piece of wood for a new tooth, if that, a hammer, a clamp/wrench, and a LOT of alcohol :P
A young male human looks at your claw, his eyes widen, "Wha-what is that on your claw?"
You look to the claw, stopping abruptly
You yell, "Git et off! Git et off!" and begin to hop up and down, shaking your hand,
voice turning to a girlish scream!

Traditional dentistry is a lost art :)

I could see a bore, a special drill worked by hand to remove the roots of a tooth, Pliers used in pulling teeth and a clamp saw used for making spaces in the jaw.

I need to find some links to medievil dentistry websites so I'll look around

To add a little bit more to this thread, and to add a more serious note:
If a character were to seriously wish to have some sort of specialised trade such as dentistry, should they Email applications and recieve immortal support as well as any tools they would need for the role-play?
