Leveling
Leveling
Just curious..but has something changed (recently) with the leveling process? It seems like a task and a half to get one level.
Three can keep a secret if two are dead.
Re: Leveling
Tell me about it...
I remember when I was a young fighter back in the day... My levels 2- 9 consisted me charging into Rat Hill, slaughtering millions of kobolds, and then charging into Brad's General Store to train my level. Levels 10- 30 worked the same except I used the Friendly Arm Inn, Howling Peaks, and the Goblin Marches. Now, after the vampire incident, it's pretty much the same thing all over again.
I really wish we just remove the 'training' part of leveling. A small, pokemon-esque "You leveled up!" prompt would be nice.

Re: Leveling
There have been no recent updates to experience gains.

Re: Leveling
If it's slowed down significantly, you probably need to move on to a tougher area.

Re: Leveling
I agree that something seems off. In an area that rocks my PC but gives very little exp in return, it seems pretty unbalanced. It used take less hours but now with needing to meditate every five minutes just to keep up, the whole exp vs hours vs time you meditate is very off. It kind of takes away from the want to make new characters, and RP experience.
Re: Leveling
I just made one pass through a level appropriate area with my warrior. About 15 minutes of play time. Got over a third of a level, and that's from 46-47. I have a cleric friend accompanying me.Tyeslan wrote:I agree that something seems off. In an area that rocks my PC but gives very little exp in return, it seems pretty unbalanced. With my caster, I have "payloads" I memorize. I have a solo leveling payload, and a group play payload. They are aliased so if I know I'm going somewhere with a group I forget all and apply the group play payload. Ten minutes later I'm good to go. The solo leveling payload is mostly geared towards self-buffs. I can keep up the killing until I go down to about 24 mana percent before I need to stop and meditate. That's another 10-15 min which is enough time to make a sandwich and get some coffee.
I'm just not seeing any problems with the leveling rate, guys. With my warrior solo it feels ridiculously slow, but that's because I'm used to my caster who doesn't have to spend as much downtime. As soon as I group up with a healer/buffer type then it picks up to faster than my caster can do solo.
So if you're running into problems, it may be that you are playing it too safe and are in too low of an area. Or you're spending too much time solo.
The best xp (and fun) seems to be in an adventuring group of warrior/priest or warrior/priest/mage. 2-3 people. And don't feel that you have to stop and meditate everytime you burn a spell or two. If that's the case, your memorization is set up incorrectly.
Hope this helps some. I can maybe provide some more tips if you need, but what works for me may not work for everyone else.
Re: Leveling
It isn't higher levels that we are talking about. It is the 1 to 15 range. Thanks though.
