OLC vs Text-Editors

Post by Xryon » Wed Jan 28, 2015 10:48 pm

Just a matter of curiousity, but why is there such a focus on using the text-editing programs over the built-in system? Particularly in regards to area layout and room linking, OLC is extremely efficient compared to text-editors.

Just something I had wondered about. Appreciate the information.

In my opinion, editing by hand is a far more effective teaching tool. We do not have a formal teaching system here and it is easiest to review written files and develop new builders through their use.

That's fair. And I agree, being able to review the areas via text-editor is definitely more effective. Like I said, I was really just curious. I never realized how much I appreciated OLC until I started putting my rooms together.
