Any other paladins having trouble using the smite ability against evil mobs? I tried it and got "Huh?" in return.
This might be running into bug territory. After trying to smite evil mobs and it not working, I regained enough energy to turn undead and layonhands... neither of which I used. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Smite?
Re: Smite?
Judging from the helpfile, I'm guessing that the skill itself might be disabled, broken or out of date. It seems fishy because it has entries for non paladin alignments.
Code: Select all
Smite
=====
Syntax: smite <target>
Range: Touch
Smite calls down the divine fury of your God against an opponent. If you
are a servant of Good you can smite evil aligned opponents with holy wrath.
If you are a servant of Evil you can smite good aligned oponents with unholy
wrath. Neutral aligned beings are neither affected nor can they access the
divine power to smite their foes.

Re: Smite?
I'll check in a bit, but as of two days ago it worked about as well as it ever did for me, that is to say it allowed me to skip my full attack action in favour of weakly slapping an opponent on the wrist. If it has been removed, I desperately hope it is to make it fit more in line with the game. In canon I understood it to essentially be a free action to add the bonus to one of your attacks, rather than converting the attack action into one attack.

Re: Smite?
Another possibility, especially for older chars (pre 2006) is that you may have trained smite as a spell and not as a skill, does it show up as trained in your skill list? If not it may need to be before you know it again.

I think that's the problem. Apparently I don't know it as a skill.Gwain wrote:Another possibility, especially for older chars (pre 2006) is that you may have trained smite as a spell and not as a skill, does it show up as trained in your skill list? Fixed.

Re: Smite?
Has it using charges of turn undead and layonhands also been fixed? I posted it as a bug report but I don't see anything about it in the bugs forum.Harroghty wrote:Fixed.
