Can someone remind me how books work with several chapters? I mean the kind of books where you use the commands "look one", "look two", etc. I think you use multiple extra descriptions, but I can't find anything about it on the builder lessons.

Thanks, that explains it very well. I'd suggest adding something to the builder lessons about using more than one extra description. Extra descriptions for rooms too.

This may sound silly to you veteran builders but how would I get books that are already in print (i.e. already sold in various shops in the game)into my new area's library to be sold there as well?

Could you make a blank book? A blank book that can be written in?
I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.

Can books have coding such as these? If I have it set up right, that is. What I have in mind is a simple program to add a point of knowledge after a PC has read a book with planar subject matter.
>exa_prog 100~
if quest (0,1,$n) == 0
mppractice $n 25 knowledge-planes
mpmset $n quest 0 1 1
endif

I like that idea. Thanks.
