Halforcs and Waterdeep
How would halforcs be received in this big city?

I think I remember reading that they are recieved fine. In that they are tolerated but more than likely treadted like 2nd class citizens. There are going to be some working as caravan guards, some might even join the guard its all in how they act.
I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.

I just wanted to make sure that this was true. Was thinking of making a Half-Orc, but not if I can't get into Waterdeep or other "good" locations (I'm not ready yet as a FK player to play an evil. Table Top and LARP yes, FK not quite yet.)

Actually, half-orcs, that are law abiding, are received fairly well within most of the cities of the Sword Coast and western heartlands. This is not to say that they will not have some recial derision by many, or stares, etc. Fortunately, the half-orc invariably attains enough of their human parent that they are obviously not a true orc.
In the city of Daggerford, just to the south, one of the well-known smiths, Oleg, is a halforc. Waterdeep's acceptance of one should be similar.

I think it would also depend upon your races views and also your own character's beliefs.
Example: Mariela Aroha the Priestess of Selune has quite a reputation for being understanding and tolerant. She greets half orcs just like she would a half elf. Maybe slightly suspicious but not terribly so, which any drow or half drow can probably laugh about. (youpeople are evil! Darn tieflings too!)
Alissende de Vauise, a sun elf is high order racist, but is trying to be a more tolerant person. So this is what she did.. she took the half orc around to find some clothing so she coudl tell him that if she discovers he is evil using good citizens, she will personally hunt him down and destroy him. Rude, yes, but she is splitting the difference between law and attitude.

Till at his second bidding darkness fled, Light shone, and order from disorder sprung.
