I'm working on item descriptions. In essence I would like to have an item be of a material but described as another material. ie. Silver Longsword made to the strength of titanium, is such allowed or recommended? Or should I use A different name like a colour to describe the weapon so that it can stay closer to a rl standard like blue metal or such? would something like silver metal be passable? The issue of strength is the primary problem.
Thank you.
Items that are named for a material but are not of that type

No you cannot change the strength of a material nor would we wish it. If you want the item to be more resistant then you can make it magical, but note that it would be magical IC as well.

So the items will be magic ic and we are allowed to sell iitems that are coded with magic flags that would ooc increase endurability of an otherwise weakened element? I'm sorry for all the questions I just want to do this right the first time so that it can easily be done and understood. I appreciate all the help.

What about in the case of avariel glassteel?
Though it is clearly made of glass, would it be acceptable to call its material steel?Even the most basic of avariel glass items is stronger than comparable glass items found anywhere else, and their masterwork items are every bit as strong as steel.
