Okay, I'm not whining, I'm not complaining, not flaming,I'm just assskkinngg. :D
My spell success has gone down a ton lately on my Priestess Transmuter and Bard, I'm curious as to if this is to do with concentration, and if so, as the concentration skill is learned, and becomes higher trained, will my success rate go up? It's literally eight attempts to complete a spell that I am a journeyman at right now. :)
Thanks!

Spell Failure
Honestly, I've always wondered why the chance of spell failure is so high on FK.
A mage memorizes their spells. As long as they are free from distractions, they can cast with pretty much automatic success each time. Add in things like a battle surging around them, then I can see a higher chance of spell failure. If they are hit or lose sight of the target, the spell would of course be disrupted. But I've never understood why a mage standing out in the middle of nowhere with no distractions can fail a dozen times in a row to cast a spell.
Clerical spells are slightly different, but still function under the same basic premises. As long as the cleric is not distracted, they should be able to pray for divine influence with success (modified by wisdom, but any cleric worth their salt has at least a 13 wisdom with 0% spell failure rate) every time.
Now I know 3rd Edition has a slightly different take on things with Arcane Spell Failure checks for armour and Arcane/Divine spell failure with a failed Concentration check. I still don't understand how a non-distracted PC (not injured, not in combat, not grappled/pinned and not under the influence of any spells) can fail to cast a spell.
I have to agree with Mele. Since Concentration was added, it seems my character's spell failures have increased dramatically. Before, an Apprentice level spell cast under normal conditions almost always succeeded. Now, it sometimes takes a dozen tries! Talk about spammy! And even an Adept level spell fails more often than before.
