This allows a character using the LOOK command to see further in the direction than he normally would. So looking south from the market square you would actually see the trainer in the fighter's club

And although there is no fighters guild to the south that I know of, it might be intresting to let one see farther in the dark.

Hehe, when the game comes back up, go south all the way from the Waterdeep square and you will see what he means, I beleive.
