I was just thinking, could slice be a tradeskill instead of a class skill?
My reasoning behind this is that slice is required for many other trade skills, tanning and leathermaking mainly, and that this limits those tradeskills to only a certain few classes. It doesnt make sense that only certain classes and faiths would known how to skin and butcher animals. Hunting is a well known trade in the medieval times and almost every farmer and villager knew how to hunt and prepare their kills. This would also open up the tanning and leathermaking trade skills to classes and faiths that do not get slice as a class skill.
Feedback is always welcome,

Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.

In the same way that smithing is not limited to one race or class, neither I believe is tanning or armour-making.
That would mean that the only limitation is as Glim states, that those wishing to learn and use those trades are limited by the ability to obtain raw skins to work with. Again, this parallels smithing where the ability to obtain ore and metals may be limited to certain races.
While I agree that logically the slice skill could be made available as a trade to all classes I have always been one for encouraging player interaction.
Buying skins from other players who have the skill would be a prime example of this. Add to that the implicit roleplay opportunities when you ask a ranger for a hundredweight of skins so you can 'practise'

I have to agree with Kelemvor, although slice would be a nice skill to have on other classes, rangers hardly get that much rp as it is with other classes due to the fact that we are a bunch of "tree-huggers" who like the woods, and spend most of our time there. The fact that we have awesome skills like slice and such gives us the oportunity to practice and make a little money, like other classes can on potions, and ore. If all that was to be open to everyone, the rp would go down and just smell... P! U! lol
