Gond and Tempus - How do you roleplay the alliance?

Post by Belose » Fri Sep 19, 2003 3:37 am

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why Gond and Tempus are allies and if it's important to roleplaying with Tempurians?

From Tempus' entry in Faiths and Pantheons :

The Foehammer is casually friendly with martially inclined deities such as Nobanion, Gond, Valkur and Uthgar

From Gond's entry in Faiths and Pantheons :

He is friendly with Lathander, Waukeen, and Tempus, for his inventions relate to creativity, profit, and war, respectively.

It's importance in your RP is for you to decide - from the above entries it does not appear to be a binding alliance between the two, but more a mutual respect for each others usefulness.

Reasons why Gond might be friendly or respected by Tempus and vise versa:

Gond is the God of Blacksmiths, he makes armor and weapons and Tempus's followers definately use armor and weapons.

Smokepowder cannons, who needs sissy magic anymore when you can smash things apart with this invention of Gond. Sure it blows up every now and then but Tempus could figure out how to incorporate it into Battle and War.

Advances in War Technologies such as seige engines (Catapults, Ballista, etc) which can be made to work more efficiently by Gond, and used by Tempus's followers.
